The story of how Sasch got her job

So when BH rang me and told me it was time we moved to Melbourne, I quickly had to think about my work situation. We still had no idea as to when we'd be moving, but assumed it would be mid November.

When BH got home, I had found a perfect position via the internet at a Fertility Clinic, for 2 days per week, based in East Melbourne. I showed it to him, and without missing a beat he told me to apply.

I wrote my cover letter and CV within the space of thirty minutes (it's been ten years since I last created one!); and then sent it off to get checked by a friend who reviews CVs for a living. She got back to me the next day and after a little tweaking, I sent the application off at 10 past 1.

Not fifteen minutes later, I received a call from the Clinic's HR manager. After a brief chat about my relevant experience, she asked if I would consider flying down for an interview. I said I would, and we started talking dates and times.

To cut a long story short, I ended up having a Skype interview two days later on the Friday, and on Monday I was offered the position!

It really was perfect timing and it's exactly the type of job I was looking for. I'll be working two days a week, in a brand new facility, which just happens to be a block away from my favourite park in Melbourne. Perfect for lunch breaks!

Something different this way comes

About six weeks ago, Brilliant Husband (henceforth known as BH) and I were on holidays in Melbourne and talking about how much we'd love to live there 'one day'. We'd rent our house out up here, trial renting down there for a year, and if we loved it, we'd move permanently. Not anytime soon though - probably in 2-3 years, before Rhino started school.

We returned home to find BH's contract was not to be renewed and he had two weeks before work would be finished. As he tells me this, the very next words out of his mouth were 'we should seriously look at Melbourne'.

One month later and we have a house in Melbourne. Jobs for both of us. Care for Rhino whilst at those jobs. Our house up here has been rented out. 52 boxes are packed (and counting!). It really is happening.

I'm not the greatest at keeping a blog, but with leaving people behind whilst moving closer to others - it's the best way to keep everyone in the loop of what's going on. I'll try updating this whenever we've got news to share or fun titbits of the entire journey.

Stay tuned...
